Barton women’s soccer wins third straight match, 1-0 over Shaw

MORRISVILLE, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (13-4-1) wrapped up the regular season portion of its schedule with a 1-0 victory over Shaw (7-9) Tuesday afternoon at the Wake Competition Center.

Barton junior forward Syaani Harris (Ashland, Va.) scored the lone goal of the contest – her team-leading seventh of the season – at the 33:10 mark of the first half off a cross.  The Bulldogs held an 8-1 advantage in shots taken while sophomore Kristin Davis (Willow Springs, N.C.) earned the shutout win in goal, her third of the season.

Shaw's goalkeeper, Caylie Hartman (Commerce City, Colo.), suffered the loss despite stopping three shots on the afternoon.

Barton, the third seed in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship, will host Emmanuel (Ga.) in the Quarterfinal Round on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
