TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (3-1-1, 1-1) shut out North Greenville (0-5, 0-2), 3-0, in a Conference Carolinas contest Saturday afternoon at Pepsi Stadium.

Three players – freshmen defenders Halldor Thorsteinsson (Sandnes, NORWAY) and Tobias Nielson (Rask Moelle, DENMARK) and sophomore midfielder Luis Hernandez Velasco (Guadarrama, SPAIN) – all scored for the Bulldogs, who held a 16-4 advantage in shots taken and kept the Crusaders winless on the year.

Thorsteinsson opened the scoring in the 21st minute before Nielson found the back of the net off a corner kick from sophomore midfielder Ludovic Rocha (Boulogne Billancourt, FRANCE) at the 26:36 mark of the second half.

Velasco rounded out the scoring with just 1:56 remaining in the contest.  All three players notched their first goals of the year.  In goal, senior Francisco Noguera (Santiago, CHILE) picked up the shutout victory after stopping two shots while Noah Kendrick (Cleveland, Ga.) was tagged with the loss.  Kendrick stopped one shot.
