GREENSBORO, N.C. – Barton College baseball players Calvin Hawke and Andrew Webster have both earned a spot on the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-Southeast Region Team, as announced yesterday.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee. ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors.

Hawke, a senior from Wendell, N.C., was named as the fifth infielder on the First Team after ranking second on the Bulldogs with a .391 batting average. The all-region honor is the second of the summer for Hawke as he was named as a first team member on the NCBWA list earlier this month.

Hawke led the team with 28 stolen bases and recorded a .950 fielding percentage over 48 games and also earned a spot on the Conference Carolinas All-Conference First Team.

Webster, a senior from Pittsboro, N.C., was recognized as a the First Team catcher after leading the team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, total hits, home runs and total RBI. He joined Hawke on the All-Conference First Team and NCBWA all-region team as well. Webster was also honored as a NCBWA All-American yesterday, the fourth Barton baseball player to receive such an award.

He turned in a .401 batting average during the season with 75 total hits, including 16 doubles and 21 home runs, to go along with a .511 on-base percentage and an .824 slugging percentage. He drove in a league-high 58 RBI and scored 58 runs of his own in 51 games, while drawing 39 walks.

A total of 10 players from Conference Carolinas made the list, including five first team selections.
